Prof. Meryem Beklioğlu Honored with Two Awards in METU 2024 Academic Performance Evaluation: Faculty of Arts and Sciences Top Performer and Women in Science Award Recipient
Prof. Dr. Meryem Beklioğlu, head of the METU Limnology Laboratory and chair of the Department of Biological Sciences at Middle East Technical University (METU), achieved remarkable success in METU 2024 Academic Performance Evaluation. She ranked first in the Department of Biological Sciences by attaining the highest performance score and was also recognized as the top-performing faculty member in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In addition, she was honored with the Women in Science Award in recognition of her outstanding research performance and contributions to scientific mentorship.
These awards reflect not only Prof. Beklioğlu’s pioneering research in freshwater ecology, lake ecosystems, climate change, and ecosystem restoration, but also her significant contributions to the training and mentorship of young researchers. As METU Limnology Laboratory team, we congratulate Prof. Beklioğlu on these achievements and wish her continued success in her scientific endeavors.
